Manchester United and West Ham United drew 1-1 at the weekend.

Manchester United’s Premier League problems continued as they could only draw 1-1 at home to West Ham United on Sunday.

The Hammers took the lead just two minutes into the game courtesy of Diafra Sakho but Zlatan Ibrahimovic responded for the hosts with 21 minutes on the clock.

There were plenty of chances thereafter but ultimately the game ended all square, with United manager Jose Mourinho wondering just what his side has to do to build up a head of steam in a title race they may already be out of.

One United player who many fans felt should not have started was winger Jesse Lingard.

The England international was picked ahead of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but he did not justify his inclusion, unable to follow up his goal against Feyenoord with another one this time out.

Lingard has pace to burn and plenty of confidence yet he is nowhere near the level of United wingers of the past and one wonders if he will ever win over the doubters.
