Manchester United kicked off the Jose Mourinho era with a 2-0 friendly win against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
Goals from Will Keane and Andreas Pereira sealed the victory for United but all eyes were on debutants Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly, with both ultimately impressing.
Centre-back Bailly arrives with a hefty price tag and a battle on his hands to wrestle a starting spot away from Daley Blind or Chris Smalling, after both impressed for large parts of last season.
It seems likely that Bailly will play alongside Smalling when both are fit and available, but against Wigan he played well alongside Blind, looking composed and calm on the ball and quick to make a challenge.
Bailly will certainly have tougher matches in a United shirt but it was a good start.
