Big mistake? Manchester United fans react on Twitter to QPR’s Sean Goss move

Manchester United midfielder set to sign with Queens Park Rangers.

Manchester United are set to sell talented youngster Sean Goss to Queens Park Rangers, after a fee was agreed between the two clubs.

SkySports report United will receive around £500,000 for the the midfielder, who signed for the club from Exeter City as a teenager back in 2012.

Goss is now 21 and was a regular at under-23 level, providing an assist in last week’s 1-0 win over Liverpool.

The prospect did not get as far as making a senior appearance for United, although the Manchester Evening News reported in late December that he was called up by Jose Mourinho to train with the first team.

A loan may have seemed like a more natural progression for Goss, but United’s decision to sell was an indication that Mourinho felt he could not offer him a path to his team after seeing him at close quarters.

The midfielder’s career is just about to really get started, with competitive football set to be on offer for the first time, and QPR boss Ian Holloway will be hopeful he is bagging a bargain.
