Manchester United have been linked to Arsenal’s record signing.
Manchester United have been linked with a surprise – and unlikely move for Arsenal ace Mesut Ozil.
The Sun report that amid Ozil’s complex contract negotiations at Arsenal, Jose Mourinho is happy to throw a spanner into the works, and aims to sign him next summer.

Ozil is Arsenal’s record signing, joining the club in 2013 from Real Madrid, and has gone on to win two FA Cups, as well as lifting the 2014 World Cup with Germany.
Arsenal infamously sold club captain Robin van Persie to Manchester United in 2012 to the fury of the fan base, and it is not a scenario they surely want to repeat.

United are willing to pay Ozil £250,000 a week, while Arsenal have offered him £160,000 a week, a comparatively small increase on his current salary of £140,000 per week.
Ozil’s contract runs out in 2018, and Arsenal will not want the situation to drag on until next summer.
The playmaker worked under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid and the pair have remained in contact.
New Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho
While the United boss would love to get one over on Arsene Wenger, United were able to do so with Van Persie in 2012 because Sir Alex Ferguson’s relationship with the Frenchman had become more cordial. The same cannot be said of Mourinho and Wenger.
This one seems highly unlikely to happen, but that has not prevented United fans from having their say.
