Former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez has joined West Ham United from Bayer Leverkusen.

Manchester United fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to West Ham United signing Javier Hernandez from Bayer Leverkusen.

As announced on West Ham’s official website, the London club have agreed a deal with German outfit Bayer over the transfer of Hernandez.

The former United striker will fly to London in the coming days to finalise personal terms and undergo medical with the Hammers.

According to BBC Sport, West Ham will pay Bundesliga club Bayer a transfer fee of £16 million in order to secure the services of the 29-year-old striker.

Hernandez knows the Premier League inside out, having been on the books of United from 2010 until 2015.

The Mexico international struggled to establish himself in the Red Devils’ starting lineup during his time at Old Trafford, but the 29-year-old always contributed with important goals and was popular among the fans.

Interestingly, West Ham’s opening Premier League game of the 2017-18 campaign will be against United at Old Trafford, and one suspects that Hernandez will start.
