Manchester City splashed out on the signature of Brazilian wonderkid Gabriel Jesus this week, beating competition from Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The Sun had reported a fortnight earlier that rivals Manchester United planned to spend £29 million on the attacker, so to beat their rivals was doubly pleasing.

The forward was in action last night as the Olympic football tournament kicked off, with Brazil in action against South Africa.
The host nation, boosted by the selection of Neymar, left supporters disappointed as they were held to a 0-0 draw, and Gabriel Jesus wasted the easiest chance of the bunch.
Through on goal from close range, he struck against the post with an open goal gaping, as seen below.
It was hardly ideal viewing for Manchester City fans who were hoping to see the striker tear up an inferior side, and show why they have bagged a bargain.
Instead for Manchester United supporters, already tired of hearing about City’s sensational new capture, it was all they could have asked for.
