Manchester United are planning talks with Dean Henderson’s representatives this month amid links with Tottenham Hotspur.

That’s according to ESPN, who claim that United want to get an indication of Henderson’s plans for the summer window.

Henderson is currently out on loan at Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest but he has been injured in recent weeks.

Henderson will be returning to Old Trafford soon enough but whether he will have a future there is unclear.

The 25-year-old wants to be playing first-team football and hasn’t really experienced that with United.

There are questions over David De Gea’s future and United now want talks with Henderson to see what he wants.

Henderson will likely say that he wants a starting role but United won’t give it – possibly opening the door for an exit.

Tottenham Hotspur want Dean Henderson

If Henderson is available for transfer this summer, you can be sure that a number of clubs will be looking to snap him up.

Football London claimed last month that Tottenham are interested in signing Henderson this summer.

Tottenham have a number of goalkeepers on their radar as they consider their options between the sticks.

Hugo Lloris is 36 now and backup stopper Fraser Forster isn’t exactly the long-term answer for Spurs.

Landing a homegrown goalkeeper would be ideal for Tottenham and whilst Jordan Pickford looks unlikely now, Henderson could fit the bill.

United may not love the idea of selling to a direct rival but the prospect of playing regularly for Tottenham could appeal to Henderson.

Hailed as ‘exceptional’ during his time at Sheffield United, Henderson needs to leave United and play on a weekly basis.

Tottenham likely aren’t the only suitor in the mix but they must be one of the favourites if talks this month indicate that Henderson wants out.
