Erik ten Hag has given his verdict on Arsenal – as per BBC Live’s coverage of his Manchester United side’s 3-2 defeat – praising the Premier League leaders’ ability on the ball in a game that he felt was good for the neutral, on Sunday.

Marcus Rashford gave United the lead with a thunderbolt from inside 25 yards, before Eddie Nketiah scored the first of two goals. A great run at the back post, not covered by the United defence. Bukayo Saka made it 2-1, a brilliant strike.

Lisandro Martinez was an unlikely scorer to make it 2-2, his header too much for Gabriel on the line. But in the dying moments, Nketiah made it 3-2 with a flick at the back post. The win strengthens Arsenal lead at the top of the table.

Manchester United’s run of recent form has died off slightly, with United picking up just one point from their last two games. Old Trafford boss ten Hag gave his verdict on Arsenal following the loss, frustrated but praising the Gunners.

“It was a great game with a lot of tempo. The audience is the big winner. Two top teams but we are disappointed when you lose this game at a late stage. They are very good on the ball but we are a good defending team,” ten Hag said.

It is a massive win for Arsenal. Huge. A real statement that the Gunners are in this title race and here to stay. It sees the Gunners go five points clear at the top of the table, with a game in hand and right now, that lead is going nowhere.

A huge win against one of the top-three sides in the Premier League right now. The Gunners look as good as any club in world football right now and with the signing of Leandro Trossard, they have more depth in their attack. Flying high.
