Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United are aware that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are ahead of them in the race for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham, according to Fabrizio Romano in CaughtOffside.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has told CaughtOffSide that Manchester United are still in the race for Bellingham, but the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners are aware that they are behind the likes of Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid.
GiveMeSport have also reported interest in the 19-year-old England international midfielder – described as “unbelievable” by Arsenal star Bukayo Saka on ITV this week – from Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Fabrizio Romano on Liverpool and Manchester United target Jude Bellingham
Romano said: “As far as I understand, it’s not that Manchester United are out of the race.
“They want Bellingham but they know Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid have different power on the market at this stage of their project.
“So Man United will try but they know it’s more than difficult. Focus now is on January, not on June yet.”
Liverpool or Manchester United for Jude Bellingham?
In our view, Liverpool will be more appealing and attractive than Manchester United to Jude Bellingham.
The 19-year-old has the world at his feet, and if he is to leave Borussia Dortmund next summer, then he will surely go to a team that are at least challenging for major trophies.
United are undergoing yet another rebuild, while Liverpool have won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League in recent seasons.
