Manchester United ace wishes injured Everton defender well.
Manchester United’s Juan Mata shoots
Manchester United playmaker Juan Mata has a reputation as one of the nicest men in football, and he continues to show why.
The Spanish star used his personal blog to wish injured Everton defender Seamus Coleman well with his recovery from a serious injury, despite having never played with the Irishman.
Republic of Ireland’s Seamus Coleman lies injured
Mata has of course played against Coleman on a number of occasions, and has offered his best wishes for a regular opponent.
He wrote: “I’d like to send all my support and encouragement to Seamus Coleman.
“He’s facing a long time away from the pitch, but I’ve spoken with some people who know him well and I’m sure that he will get through this and have a good recovery.”
Coleman suffered a double leg fracture after a challenge from Wales full-back Neil Taylor in Friday night’s clash.
The full-back was in clear pain, and faces a battle to play again in 2017.
Mata’s message shows the standing in which Coleman is held by his fellow peers, and while there will be a number of physical and mental hurdles for the defender to overcome, the support he is getting from all corners will surely help him along.
