The Manchester United forward has been linked with an exit from the club this summer.
Manchester United ace Anthony Martial’s agent Philippe Lamboley spoke exclusively to Italian media outlet Il Bianco Nero about his client’s future, and refused to deny reports linking the Frenchman with a summer exit from Old Trafford.
The 22-year-old joined the Red Devils from Monaco in the summer of 2015, for a fee that could rise to £58 million, according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to rack up 36 goals and 27 assists in 131 games for United thus far.
He faces an uncertain future at Old Trafford, though, with the Daily Mail claiming that he is one of nine players who Jose Mourinho is willing to sell in the summer.
Lamboley was asked about Martial’s future, when speaking exclusively to Il Bianco Nero, and refused to commit as to where his client will be playing next season:
“Will he stay in Manchester in the summer? I’m sorry, but I can’t say anything else about it at the moment. His goal is to win the FA Cup and to finish in second place in the Premier League with Manchester United, which secures access to the next edition of the Champions League.”
Jose Mourinho has plenty of options in the wide attacking areas, especially after the January signing of Alexis Sanchez, so it could be argued that the France international is far from dispensable at Old Trafford.
He still has a lot to offer at the very highest level, though, and it would seem rather foolish of United to give up on him whilst he is still so young.
