Manchester City defender Kyle Walker’s initial reaction to drawing Liverpool in the Champions League looks very foolish now.

Walker seemed very confident when City were given a tie against Liverpool in the quarter finals of the European competition.

Indeed, the £50m defender posted a picture of himself in sunglasses, but Liverpool fans have hammered him for the post after last night’s result, with the post racking up almost 10,000 re-tweets.

Liverpool were in scintillating form as they won 3-0 at Anfield yesterday to move into a very commanding position in the tie.

Liverpool will only need to score once at the Etihad next week to leave City needing to hit the back of the net five times to progress.

The Reds were relentless in the first half of last night’s match, as they put in one of their finest performances in recent memory.

Mohamed Salah started the scoring, before Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Sadio Mane also found a way past Ederson in the City goal.

Liverpool now are the heavy favourites to progress, with City’s hopes of completing the treble now hanging in the balance.
