Manchester City right-back Kyle Walker has said on BBC Radio 5 Live (7:22pm, October 14, 2022) that Liverpool and England international defender Trent Alexander-Arnold should be getting used to getting criticism from the media and the wider public.
Liverpool right-back Alexander-Arnold has come under fire this season for his apparent struggles in defending.
The 24-year-old is one of the best attacking right-backs in the world and has won the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League with the Merseyside club already in his career.
However, the £180,000-a-week (Spotrac) Alexander-Arnold has been slammed by some for not doing enough defensively.
Walker has said that his England international teammate Alexander-Arnold will get criticised again, saying that football is all about opinions.

Walker said about criticism of Alexander-Arnold: “My personal point of view is it’s going to happen again. People are going to have doubts again. It’s football, it’s about opinions.”

Working on his game
Trent Alexander-Arnold is only 24, so it is clear that the Liverpool and England international right-back is not at his peak and will not be for a while.
The Englishman can only get better in the coming years, and he needs to improve and develop.
The Liverpool star does need to work on the defensive part of his game, and you would expect him to that in the coming months and years.
