Newcastle United will be looking to improve their defensive options during the summer transfer window.

According to The Sun, Manchester City are keen to loan out Jason Denayer again next season – as they seek to help the centre-back gain even more first-team experience.
Denayer has been sent on a series of temporary moves across recent times, with the Belgian international spending time with Celtic, Galatasaray and, most recently, Sunderland.
Denayer has generally impressed on his loan spells, and Newcastle United could benefit from making a move for the 21-year-old this summer.

Denayer was, of course, part of Sunderland’s team which was relegated in such abject circumstances this season.
But he was one of the very few players to come out of the campaign with some credit left, despite being played in a number of different positions.
Denayer was started right across the backline and even in midfield, as David Moyes searched for the winning formula at the Stadium of Light.

This lack of consistency did little to help Denayer’s form, but the City youngster now has a year’s experience behind him and he is also settled in the North East.
Newcastle, therefore, could benefit from bringing Denayer in – as Rafael Benitez looks to improve his defensive options for the season ahead.
