Manchester City welcome Newcastle United to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday night with renewed belief in the Premier League title race.

Pep Guardiola’s side closed the gap on Arsenal after the Gunners dropped more points against Wolves, leaving City five points behind but with a game in hand.

With a crucial home clash against Arsenal still to come later in the season, momentum is firmly back in City’s hands heading into this weekend.

Manchester City vs Newcastle kick-off time, venue, and how to watch

Manchester City vs Newcastle United kicks off at 8 pm GMT on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the Etihad Stadium.

The match will be broadcast live in the UK on TNT Sports 1 and TNT Ultimate. Subscribers can also stream the game via the Discovery+ app and website.

Supporters can follow live coverage and analysis throughout the evening via dedicated matchday blogs, with updates from inside the stadium.

Manchester City vs Newcastle team news and prediction

City have several fitness concerns heading into the game. Erling Haaland is a doubt after missing the recent fixture against Salford due to a knock sustained the previous week.

Jeremy Doku is also dealing with a calf issue, while Savinho remains sidelined with a quad problem. Josko Gvardiol and Mateo Kovacic are confirmed absentees, and Max Alleyne’s status remains uncertain.

Newcastle arrive in strong scoring form after their emphatic 6-1 Champions League win over Qarabag, though they have been dealt a major blow with Bruno Guimaraes ruled out for around two months.

Lewis Miley is pushing for a return, while Yoane Wissa is expected to be available despite a recent knock. Sven Botman could also come back into contention.

This will be the fourth meeting between the sides this season and the second in February, underlining the familiarity between the two teams.

Newcastle have proven capable of troubling City, but the absence of Guimaraes weakens their midfield control. If Haaland is fit enough to start, City’s cutting edge should prove decisive in what feels like a must-win encounter.

Prediction: Manchester City 1-0 Newcastle United.
