Newcastle are targeting Inter Milan’s Stevan Jovetic and his stats for Manchester City suggest he deserves another chance in the Premier League.
Newcastle United have turned their attention to Inter Milan forward Stevan Jovetic, according to Italian publication Tutto Mercato Web, as manager Rafa Benitez looks to bolster his options in attack.
It’s believed Inter would allow the 27-year-old to leave the San Siro for a fee of around £13m and the Magpies are getting ready to send officials to Italy to negotiate the deal.

Jovetic will already be a familiar figure to fans in England after spending two years in Manchester City’s first team after completing a 2013 switch from Fiorentina.
Unfortunately game time was hard to come by for the Montenegro international at the Etihad Stadium and he was sent on an 18-month loan to the Nerazzurri which became permanent in January – when the Serie A club then sent him out on loan themselves to Sevilla.
Yet despite enduring inconsistent playing time for the past few years, Jovetic’s stats for the Citizens suggest Newcastle may be right to give him another chance in the Premier League.
Despite starting just 20 matches for City, the attacker scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 44 appearances in all competitions, which included eight strikes and five assists in the English top flight.
Given regular opportunities, Jovetic could still prove to be a lethal marksman in the division and at 27, Benitez could be securing the Montenegrin for the best years of his career.
