Manchester City star Kyle Walker has told Lad Bible that Tottenham striker and England captain Harry Kane is not the best trainer in Gareth Southgate’s squad – saying every England player trains hard, ahead of the World Cup.
Kane, 29, comes into the World Cup in excellent form – having netted 13 goals in 22 appearances this season. But he has started all 22 matches for Tottenham, and Antonio Conte has highlighted his tiredness ahead of the trip to Qatar.
The England captain will be looking to kick back and get some well-deserved rest in, before Monday’s first game. England take on Iran at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha. Theyface USA on the 25th, and Wales on the 29th.
In a short video published by Lad Bible on YouTube, Conor Coady posed questions to Raheem Sterling and Walker. They were asked to agree or disagree, strongly agree, or strongly disagree., if Kane is the best trainer. Walker agreed.
But did not strongly agree, stating that he trains hard – but others train harder: “There’s a lot of good trainers. So to single him out, no. Obviously he is a good player. But I wouldn’t say he is the best. His finishing is meant to be good.”

Walker: Tottenham striker Kane not the best trainer in England squad
He is hardly going to be the best trainer at the World Cup, given his workload already this season. Those who are not in European competition might just have a bit more energy. Callum Wilson, for example, has only played 10 times.
Less than half the games Kane has played, though part of that is to do with injury. James Maddison has only played 14 times. The likes of Walker, Kalvin Phillips, John Stones and Harry Maguire come in with few minutes, after injuries.
That, or a lack of game time having dropped down the pecking order. But, Kane will be expected to get up to speed. If England are going to do something spectacular at the World Cup, Kane will be front and centre.
