Tottenham Hotspur defender Kyle Walker is linked with a move to Manchester City – but they gave away his replacement.

Manchester City are growing increasingly confident of signing Kyle Walker from Tottenham Hotspur, according to The Sun.
The England right-back is a regular in the Spurs team but has been left out of two key recent matches as speculation over his future grows.
The former Sheffield United defender would cost City a big fee, which The Sun report could be as much as £50 million.
Walker could be a terrific signing for Pep Guardiola’s City, but Tottenham’s next move could make the transfer a humiliating one.
That is because Spurs already have a ready made replacement for Walker in Kieran Trippier, who has filled in for him in recent matches and won plaudits.

Trippier came through Manchester City’s youth system, selling him to Burnley in 2012 without ever really giving him a chance in the first team.
The 26-year-old has gone on to prove this a big error, landing a high profile move to Spurs in 2015.

Having been a deputy to Walker, his big chance could be just around the corner, and he may have his old club to thank, if they spend big to sign the first choice right-back.
Trippier stepping up would underline City’s past transfer errors, ones they are still paying for.
Tottenham acted shrewdly to sign him up two years ago, and his progression since could give them the confidence to take the money for Walker and run.
