Manchester City are now looking into a £50million move to sign former Leeds United target Tajon Buchanan from Club Brugge.
City haven’t quite been their usual brilliant selves of late.
Sunday’s narrow 2-1 win at Luton Town ensured that City didn’t go five games without a win, which would have been a little bizarre to watch.
Three points from four games was a concerning run but City will now hope for some new momentum after coming from behind to beat Luton.
Pep Guardiola and co rarely strike big deals in the January transfer window but one interesting target is emerging.
Manchester City keen on Club Brugge star Tajon Buchanan
The Daily Star claim that City are interested in snapping up Club Brugge ace Tajon Buchanan head of the January window.
It’s claimed that Guardiola wants another option down the right flank and Buchanan has become a target.
The Canada international is entering the final 18 months of his contract and is considered ‘unlikely’ to sign a new deal.
Club Brugge are still ready to demand a staggering £50million for Buchanan, a fee we can’t see City paying.
Former club New England Revolution have a 10% sell-on clause in the deal, which is why Club Brugge are asking for such a huge fee.
Buchanan has played all the way up the right and left flanks and even as an attacking midfielder, so he offers outstanding versatility.
Add in Buchanan’s blistering pace and we can understand why City may see Buchanan as a player who can

Leeds United wanted Buchanan earlier this year
This isn’t the first time Buchanan has been linked with a move to England.
Calciomercato reported in February of this year that Leeds United were battling Inter Milan in the race to sign Buchanan.
Buchanan ended up staying in Belgium with Leeds no doubt suffering after their relegation from the Premier League.
Fast forward less than a year and Buchanan may now make a huge move to Manchester City, potentially joining Guardiola’s all-conquering side.
That is quite the rise for the 24-year-old, who has hit three goals and four assists for Club Brugge this season.
