Manchester City want to keep Leeds target Fabian Delph, but interest in William Carvalho suggests otherwise, while West Brom should pay attention to both developments.
Teamtalk reported this week that Manchester City are planning to resist interest from clubs including Leeds United for midfield ace Fabian Delph.
The former Aston Villa and Leeds midfielder has barely featured due to injury this season, preventing new boss Pep Guardiola from taking an extending look at him.
City’s own transfer plans however could suggest otherwise.
HITC Sport’s Graeme Bailey understands that City are taking a strong interest in Sporting Lisbon midfielder William Carvalho, who the Portuguese side value at £30 million.

Carvalho is a defensive midfielder who would play the same role as Delph, and restrict his starting opportunities at City.
The Express report City have a £250 million transfer budget, meaning a move for Carvalho would be a drop in the ocean for them.
Signing the 24-year-old could bring Delph’s City career to an end, and accelerate a return to former club Leeds.

West Bromwich Albion are interested in both players, with Teamtalk reporting they are keen on Delph along with the Whites.
