A round up of news stories this morning about Manchester City.

Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge has revealed that Manchester City made an offer for Mario Gotze.

The German midfielder left Borussia Dortmund to link up with their main rivals, Munich, in the Bundesliga.

“Gotze had a great offer from Manchester City,” he told Der Spiegel.

The Daily Star has claimed Manchester City will make Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone their target should they sack Manuel Pellegrini.

Pellegrini is under pressure after inconsistent Premier League and Champions League performances.

Reports suggest the Chilean will have this season to try and turn things around.

Manchester City goalkeeper Willy Caballero claims he should have been called into the Argentina squad sooner.

The 33-year-old was called into his national side for the first time earlier this month.

“I think that maybe this call could have come earlier but I don’t want to think about the past – I just want to give everything for the national team,” he told Manchester City’s website.
