A round up of news stories this morning related to Manchester City.
The Daily Express has reported that Manuel Pellegrini will go after a role with Napoli if he loses his job at the Etihad.
The Chilean is under heavy pressure at the moment, with City fighting for success in the Premier League and Champions League.
It’s unclear whether or not he will be retained for next season if the club doesn’t win a trophy by the end of the campaign.
Fernandinho has been quoted by the Manchester Evening News explaining an apparent fight between himself and captain Vincent Kompany.
Reports have suggested that the reason both were recently dropped from the side was due to an argument during the Premier League game against Liverpool.
However, the midfielder has explained that wasn’t the case and that the story has been blown out of all proportion.
“There was a conversation, and not much more than that. I don’t know why people actually thought there was a fight – we spoke about how we could improve things in that match,” he said.
The Daily Star has reported that Montenegro international striker Stevan Jovetic has agreed to link up with ex-City boss Roberto Mancini at Inter Milan.
The forward has struggled to secure regular playing time at the Etihad this season and could be looking for a more consistent chance with a top flight team.
The paper’s report doesn’t produce a fee but says City will be looking to make back a good amount of the £22 million they paid for him.
