Newcastle United could benefit from checking out the availability of four Manchester City players.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City have left Wilfried Bony, Joe Hart, Eliaquim Mangala and Samir Nasri off their pre-season tour – and every member of the quartet would be a good addition for Newcastle United this summer.

Newcastle are known to be looking to strengthen in every area of their first-team squad, with Rafael Benitez hunting additions.

And some of City’s unwanted players, would surely fit in well at St. James’ Park.

Newcastle have actually been chasing a deal for Hart for much of the summer, with the Sunderland Echo suggesting that the England international would like a move to Tyneside.

The Magpies could also bolster their defensive options considerably by bringing in Mangala.

The French defender may not have done enough to win over Pep Guardiola, but he would be an upgrade on Benitez’s current options in central defence.

Bony, similarly, may not have hit the heights at City – but he is a proven scorer at Premier League level.

The powerful forward was prolific during his time with Swansea City and could form a very dangerous partnership with Dwight Gayle.

Nasri would arguably be the most exciting potential arrival of the four, though.

The Frenchman has a wonderful range of skill, and his creativity would make him a real fans’ favourite, if he was to make a switch to Newcastle.

Of course, the Magpies are unlikely to sign all four of the City quartet – but if they could even bring in just one of the group, then Benitez’s options for next season would look notably stronger.
