The Manchester Evening News are reporting this afternoon that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is unlikely to join Manchester City if Pep Guardiola’s side bring Jack Grealish from Aston Villa.
What’s the story?
It is being reported by The Manchester Evening News this afternoon (12:55pm) that should City sign Grealish for £100 million, they will end their pursuit of Kane.
The Premier League champions have offered £100 million to Villa for the England international attacking midfielder.
City also want to sign Kane from Spurs, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy values the 28-year-old at well in excess of £100 million and does not actually want to sell him.
The striker wants to join City, according to the report in The Manchester Evening News, which has added that if Grealish switches to the Etihad Stadium for £100 million, then ‘a move for Kane will not be financially viable’.

Unexpected twist
This is a very unexpected twist.
It was only yesterday evening (6:38pm) that The Telegraph were reporting that City remain interested in Kane as a replacement for Sergio Aguero.
The report stated that Kane will tell Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy in the coming days that he wants to join City.

The Telegraph also said that City are keen on signing Grealish and Kane.
Now, it seems that City will have to forgo their interest in the Spurs striker if they sign Grealish.
Well, according to one source anyway.
Let’s see what the other media outlets say.
You get the feeling that this is not the end of the story.
