Manchester City have seen Joao Cancelo really kick on this season, taking a huge leap after a somewhat frustrating debut campaign with the club.
Cancelo now looks like being City’s first-choice right back for the foreseeable future, pushing himself ahead of Kyle Walker.
Now though, City are being linked with another right back, as The Athletic claim that Pep Guardiola’s men are pursuing Brighton and Hove Albion’s Tariq Lamptey.
It’s stated that Arsenal, Everton and City all want to sign Lamptey, and aren’t being put off by him signing a new four-and-a-half-year deal at Brighton.
Lamptey only joined the Seagulls from Chelsea last January, but has taken the Premier League by storm with superb performances under Graham Potter.
He may only be 5ft 5in tall, but Lamptey has starred with his attacking ability and blistering pace, causing mayhem going forward.

That could fit perfectly with Guardiola’s approach, and City fans have been taking to Twitter to react to suggestions that Lamptey could end up at the Etihad Stadium.
Some believe that a right back just isn’t needed right now, certainly not as much as a left back anyway, but others believe this would be the end of Kyle Walker’s time at the club.
Walker turns 31 in May, and some think that his City career would be ‘over’ if Guardiola pursues a deal for Lamptey this year.
