The big Ivorian looked slightly cumbersome in the draw at St James’s Park.

Manchester City were held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Newcastle United in last night’s Premier League clash at St James’s Park.

Sergio Aguero opened the scoring in controversial fashion on 14 minutes despite a strong suspicion of offside for what was his 100th Premier League goal.

But the Magpies, who knew that a two-goal victory would have lifted them out of the relegation zone, struck an equaliser through the unlikely source of Vurnon Anita just after the half-hour mark.

Despite there being over an hour of football left, both sides settled for a share of the spoils. For City, it was a chance to pull seven points clear of fifth-placed Manchester United in the hunt for Champions League qualification.

And few players bore the brunt of the criticism more than midfielder Yaya Toure, who perhaps looked a shadow of his former self on a ground which has proven a rich source of goals for him in the past.

He operated in a deeper midfield role last night, but his influence on the game appeared to be limited and the Sky Blues fans did not react well to his display.
