West Ham United defender Pablo Zabaleta has just signed a new contract at the London Stadium.

Pablo Zabaleta of West Ham United warms up prior to training at Rush Green on February 1, 2019 in Romford, England.

Manchester City fans have responded to West Ham United right-back Pablo Zabaleta’s latest tweet, suggesting that they wished he was coming back to the Etihad Stadium.

West Ham have tied down Zabaleta for another year, after signing him to a new contract.

The Argentine defender’s future was very much up in the air, with his old contract set to expire at the end of the season, but he is now set to be at the London Stadium next year.

And that seems to have disappointed City fans, who were hoping that Zabaleta would re-join them this summer.

Zabaleta has played fairly regularly for West Ham this term, but he may have more of a reserve role next season.

Ryan Fredericks has improved of late for West Ham, and Manuel Pellegrini may well look to sign a right-back over the summer.

Zabaleta has already admitted that he will retire sooner rather than later, but it not yet known whether his first coaching role will come at either West Ham or Manchester City.
