Manchester City fans have hit back at Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Winks after his comments in the London Evening Standard.

Tottenham picked up a 2-2 draw against City at the weekend, with Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela getting on the scoresheet for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.

Spurs stopped City’s 15 game winning streak in the Premier League, and Winks was in bullish mood after the contest.

“They’re an excellent side, they’re champions and you have to respect them but like all sides they have weaknesses and I think we exploited them, especially from the corner,” the England international said.

“I think they [City and Liverpool] should worry about us.”

The comments have angered City fans though, as they feel that Winks has overstepped the mark.

Tottenham had to ride their luck against Pep Guardiola’s side, as they lost the shot count 30 to three.

And City supporters have been annoyed with Winks’s suggestion that Tottenham could trouble this term.

Spurs and City both have four points from their opening two Premier League fixtures.

Tottenham are next in action against Newcastle United, while City face Bournemouth.
