Manchester City avoided an embarrassment on Saturday night as they came from behind to beat Cheltenham Town 3-1 in the FA Cup.
City were expected to coast past the League Two side, but couldn’t find the breakthrough in the first half before Cheltenham struck.
Alfie May turned home Ben Tozer’s long throw-in to threaten a staggering result, but City did end up grabbing the win.
Phil Foden hauled City level, before Gabriel Jesus and Ferran Torres sealed a 3-1 win, with Pep Guardiola’s men running riot late on.
This was far from an easy night for City, and it will have been a real learning curve for youngsters Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Tommy Doyle.
The duo were given starts at Whaddon Road, as Guardiola attempts to give them first-team experience.

Midfielder Doyle showed some promise, firing in some impressive crosses whilst drifting into wide areas, somewhat similarly to Kevin De Bruyne.
Fans took to Twitter to share their joy at Doyle’s display, suggesting that he is truly a De Bruyne regen.
Others called him a ‘baller’ and ‘the future’, urging Guardiola to bring him into the first-team squad more as he is an ‘immense talent’.
