Manchester City fans react to Aston Villa signing Douglas Luiz.
Aston Villa finally clinched a move for Douglas Luiz yesterday, BBC Sport reported.
Luiz signed from Manchester City, where he had never played a game as he had not been granted a work permit.
He spent the last two seasons out on loan at Spanish side Girona.
The work permit still needs to be formally approved, with Villa hopeful it will be after spending £15 million on him.
The Birmingham Mail report City have a buy back clause as part of the deal, but do not have any details of the specifics.
This would be one drawback to Villa’s purchase, but there is little point them quibbling about this right now.
They have signed a top quality Brazilian midfielder who the Premier League champions saw fit to buy two years ago.
If it gets to the point where City demand him back, that will only mean he has been terrific for Villa, and the Midlands side can worry about that situation when it arises.
