Manchester City have lost a few talented players in recent times, and they may have fears over the future of Luke Mbete.

Jadon Sancho is the most famous case after he left the club for Borussia Dortmund in 2017, whilst Brahim Diaz and Jeremie Frimpong have shown promise elsewhere.

The Athletic now claim that Juventus and Leeds United both want to sign defender Mbete, having been impressed with his displays this season.

The 17-year-old is already playing Premier League 2 football, and was even on the City first-team bench in the 3-1 win at Chelsea on Saturday.

City have high hopes for Mbete, and Pep Guardiola has picked him out as a player with a ‘good perspective’ having watched him in action.

Capable of playing at centre back or left back, Mbete – who can play for England or DR Congo – will be looking to break through at City, but won’t be short of offers if he chooses to leave.

Now, City fans are taking to Twitter to suggest that Mbete should be loaned out to Leeds, believing that such a move would be great for his development.

City fans clearly have hope that Mbete will become a first-team player in the future, and that playing under Marcelo Bielsa will stand him in good stead to thrive under Guardiola moving forward.
