Manchester City recorded another win on Wednesday evening, as they beat Aston Villa 2-0 at the Etihad Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s men were finding it difficult to break Villa down, having shot after shot without finding the target until Bernardo Silva broke the deadlock.
Silva curled home a fine stroke, though it was somewhat controversial as Villa players pleaded for an offside to be given against Rodri.
Ilkay Gundogan sealed the win from the penalty spot after Matty Cash handled a goalbound Gabriel Jesus header, giving City a 2-0 victory.
That’s now six league wins in a row for City and yet another clean sheet, yet whilst a number of Guardiola’s side impressed, fans also had their eye on one Villa player.
Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz is of interest to City because they have a buy-back clause on the Brazilian that can be activated this summer.

The 22-year-old was sold by City in 2019, and has been picked out by some as the natural heir to Fernandinho in the heart of City’s midfield.
Luiz enjoyed an all-action display at the Etihad Stadium, racking up three successful dribbles, two shots on target, one tackle won, one interception and one blocked cross.
City fans took to Twitter to react to Luiz’s display, believing that he is a ‘serious baller’ and that City need him back.
Others urged Guardiola to strike a deal, feeling that he passed his audition at the Etihad Stadium last night.
