Manchester City face some key decisions this summer as Fernandinho and Sergio Aguero will both be out of contract.

Veteran players like David Silva and Vincent Kompany have moved on in recent times, so losing both Fernandinho and Aguero would be a huge blow.

The duo aren’t getting any younger, and City may need to find long-term replacements for them both, with striker being linked now.

The Athletic claim that City are eyeing a number of strikers, and Southampton’s Danny Ings is one of the names on the radar.

The 28-year-old is thought to be keen on joining a Champions League club, and City seemingly have him on their radar.

Ings is a proven Premier League goalscorer, bagging seven goals in 17 games this term as well as 22 goals in 38 outings last term.

Being a homegrown player for European action should be appealing, but City fans don’t seem impressed at all with the rumours.

Supporters took to Twitter to suggest that anything more than £15million for Ings would be bad business, especially as he turns 29 this summer.

Others think that Ings would be a ‘ridiculous downgrade’ on Aguero, fearing that he just isn’t good enough to fill the Argentinian’s boots at the Etihad Stadium.
