Manchester City came from behind three times as they drew 3-3 with Celtic in the Champions League.

In a pulsating game at Celtic Park, the home side led three times, but in each instance could not hold their lead for more than nine minutes as Pep Guardiola’s side failed to control the game.

With the draw, Celtic claimed their first point in Group C and brought to an end the 100% start City had made to the season, with Brendan Rodgers’ side having a one point advantage over bottom side Borussia Monchengladbach.

Celtic led twice in the first half with Fernandinho responding to Moussa Dembele’s opener, before Raheem Sterling cancelled out the own goal that he unfortunately deflected past Claudio Bravo.

If those equalising goals were intended to put to bed the fight that Celtic were putting up after being humiliated in their 7-0 loss to Barcelona in their previous Champions League game, then City again were left reeling as Dembele hooked the ball past Bravo to make it 3-2 to the home side.

But as was the case in the previous three times that Rodgers’ side had taken the lead, City were not behind for long as Nolito equalised within eight minutes, slotting home a simple tap in after a slick City move.

The 3-3 draw leaves City with four points from their opening two games, with back-to-back fixtures against Barcelona to come, the first of which sees former manager Guardiola return to the Nou Camp.
