Manchester City beat Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 on Saturday.
Manchester City put in a fine performance to overcome Tottenham Hotspur 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday lunch-time.
Sergio Aguero scored all four of City’s goals, putting the hosts ahead in 13th minute before Christian Eriksen equalised for Tottenham almost immediately.
But that was as good as it got for the visitors, with Aguero converting a panelty in the 20th minute and going on to complete his hat-trick (again from the spot) in the 68th minute, before rounding off the scoring with 15 minutes to play.
Tottenham had Premier League debutant Federico Fazio sent off while Roberto Soldado failed to convert a penalty of his own to continue his disappointing form in a Spurs shirt.
The result means City have 17 points and stay in touch with leaders Chelsea, while Spurs slipped to eighth after shipping enough goals to take their goal-difference into minus-figures.
