Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has spoken highly of Aston Villa star Jack Grealish to The Sun.

Guardiola, who won the European Cup with Barcelona as a player in 1991-92 and the Champions League twice with the Blaugrana as a manager, was impressed with Grealish on Saturday afternoon.

The 24-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, was in action for Villa in their Premier League game against City away from home at the Etihad Stadium.

The Citizens won the match 3-0, but City manager Guardiola was impressed with Grealish.

Guardiola told The Sun about Grealish: “He’s incredible. A top player. I’m happy he (initially) stayed in the Championship to defend his club.

“He’s a talented player who always creates something. An exceptional player but too expensive for Manchester!”
