The Citizens boss, who has won 27 pieces of major silverware, spoke about Silva ahead of their teams’ Premier League clash.

Everton manager Marco Silva has been given an apparent vote of confidence by Manchester City counterpart Pep Guardiola, who says the Toffees need to think carefully about their belief in their project and in the Portuguese before making a decision on his future.
Silva is currently under pressure at Goodison Park, with the Toffees losing form in recent weeks – they have won just three of their last 12 Premier League matches, and have slipped down to ninth place in the table.
Everton’s performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers last week came under particular criticism from some fans as they were lacklustre en route to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.
However, Guardiola – whose Man City side faces the Toffees at Goodison Park on Wednesday night – is aware of the perils of a difficult first season at a new club, having endured a trophyless debut campaign with the Citizens in 2016-17.
The following season, Man City broke records en route to the Premier League title and also picked up the League Cup, which put his tally at 26 (Independent) ahead of last summer’s Community Shield win, while this term they remain in contention for all four trophies.

“The people don’t know how difficult it is to create the teams,” Guardiola told Sky Sports News on Tuesday, before going on to dispense his own advice, which seemed on the side of sticking rather than twisting.
“If they believe in the project, if they believe in him, they have to move forward with him, but nobody assures you a new manager is going to better. It’s difficult to create, to build something,” he added.
