The Tottenham Hotspur defender-cum-midfielder has been linked with a move away.
According to bookmakers Ladbrokes, Manchester City are favourites to be Eric Dier’s next club if he leaves Tottenham Hotspur.
The England international was snapped up by Spurs in a cut-price deal from Sporting Lisbon in 2014 and he quickly proved his credentials with a string of fine displays in a number of different positions.
Predominantly a centre-back, Dier was moved into a holding midfield role last season and he excelled alongside fellow youngster Dele Alli. However the arrival of Victor Wanyama has seen him shifted back into defence, where he has covered for Toby Alderweireld’s injury.

At just 22, with 106 appearances for Tottenham under his belt and with a contract until the summer of 2021, Dier’s future at White Hart Lane looks secure.
However, the Times recently reported that Chelsea and Bayern Munich are interested in the player, and now Ladbrokes have put a list of likely suitors together.
City lead the betting at 3/1, while Manchester United are 4/1, Chelsea are 5/1 and Bayern are out at 10/1.

Dier has come into his own at Tottenham after developing in Sporting’s academy and he would have no shortage of suitors if he did leave North London for pastures new.
But something tells us Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino will have no intention of cashing in on a player who could develop into one of the best in the country.
