Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are reportedly determined to beat Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to the signing of Matheus Nunes from Wolverhampton Wanderers.
According to The Telegraph, Manchester City and Liverpool are interested in signing Matheus Nunes from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window.
City, who won the Premier League, the FA Cup and UEFA Champions League last season, have had an opening bid of £47 million for Nunes already turned down by Wolves.
However, the Citizens are now about to make a second and improved offer for the Portugal international midfielder, according to the report.
The Telegraph has claimed that Liverpool are “keen admirers of Nunes”, while journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that the Reds want to sign the 24-year-old.
