Newcastle United are in the process of being overtaken.

It looks like the £350 million takeover at Newcastle United might’ve come closer to materialising.

The Chronicle confirmed on Tuesday that the Bin Zayed Group was discussing the sale of Newcastle with owner Mike Ashley.

Fans of the St James’s Park club have seen some false dawns with regards to seeing the back of Ashley after a controversial 12-year reign as Magpies owner.

But this one looks a lot more likely to happen – especially considering what Midhat Kidwai posted on LinkedIn.

Kidwai, the Managing Director for Bin Zayed Group, said ‘Thank You’ when somebody on his profile congratulated him for the takeover.

It remains to be seen what Sheikh Khlaed’s net worth is but, according to The Mirror, the Bin Zayed Group made a £2 billion offer to buy Liverpool last year.

If the Newcastle takeover is successful, the first priority will be to give Rafael Benitez a new deal, with the Spanish manager out of contract in a month.
