Despite receiving his P45 from Daniel Levy in 2019, Mauricio Pochettino is still loved by the majority of Tottenham fans for everything he did in N17.

The Argentine guided Spurs to their first ever Champions League final, and always acted with dignity during his time in charge.

Even Levy seems to regret his decision. According to The Athletic, the 60-year-old is hopeful of rehiring the South American after Antonio Conte eventually departs.

Interestingly, Pochettino could become available sooner rather than later after an incident on Saturday.

What’s the story?

Well, before Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-1 win over St Etienne, Pochettino was the subject of booing from his own supporters at the Parc des Princes.

Before kick-off, the 49-year-old’s name was read out on the loudspeakers, which prompted an angry reaction from the PSG fans.

In all honesty, we’re not quite sure why Pochettino was booed.

PSG are currently 15 points clear at the top of Ligue 1, and also hold a 1-0 advantage over Real Madrid going into the second leg of the Champions League last 16.

Tottenham could hire Mauricio Pochettino in 2022

In all honesty, it wouldn’t be a complete surprise if Spurs hired Pochettino sometime this year.

According to the Daily Mail, the former Southampton boss is expected to leave PSG in the summer.

It comes after The Athletic claimed that those at Tottenham do not believe Conte will be in charge of the north Londoners next season.

As you can see, a reunion for Pochettino at Tottenham certainly seems likely.

Keep an eye on this saga – if he continues to be booed, nobody would blame Pochettino for leaving the French capital earlier than anticipated.
