Tottenham Hotspur could be getting the band back together as links to Mauricio Pochettino and Christian Eriksen continue to circulate.
Indeed, according to RMC Sport, Spurs would happily welcome Pochettino back to the club if Antonio Conte, as rumoured, leaves for PSG, while Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Eriksen is on Spurs’ radar.
No Tottenham fan should need telling about the history these two have together in north London.
Tottenham were a joy to watch under the Argentine, and now, three years on from Poch’s first exit from Spurs, they could be reunited.
If Pochettino were to return to Spurs, the Eriksen rumours would only amp up. After all, the manager has had some fantastic things to say about the Dane in the past.
What’s Pochettino said about Eriksen?
Pochettino used to praise Eriksen on almost a weekly basis, but perhaps his most notable bit of praise was after a 3-0 win against Swansea.
“Yes, Christian is doing a fantastic job,” Pochettino said after that game.
“He’s such an important player for us, every season he steps up, one step higher and more.
“He’s a fantastic player, today he was fantastic, two great goals then the performance, he is very consistent in the whole season always.”

Back to their roots
Tottenham have been trying to recreate the magic that they’d captured under Pochettino for years now, but perhaps the best way for Spurs to emulate their past success is to just do the same thing again.
As Eriksen has shown with Brentford, he’s still a remarkable player, and while Pochettino hasn’t had the easiest of times in Paris, his PSG side are still going to win Ligue 1.
Pochettino and Eriksen reuniting in north London would be a brilliant story, but it could also be a bit of a masterstroke from Spurs.
