Daniel Farke has insisted to the Daily Mail that Norwich City will not have a fire-sale, despite Leeds United being linked with Emi Buendia.
Read Norwich suggests that Leeds are preparing to try and take advantage of Norwich’s relegation from the Premier League by bringing the Argentine playmaker to Elland Road, and they have already made an enquiry over his availability.
However, Farke’s latest words suggest that Leeds could struggle to get Buendia away from the Canaries.
“We will grow from this experience,” Farke said. “This season was unbelievably important for the development of the club.
“We are in a solid financial situation. I expect all key players and young prospects are willing to stay and we are capable of keeping them.”
If Buendia does stay with Norwich in the Championship it will be a major boost to Farke’s side’s chances of coming straight back up.
Leeds would also have benefit from bringing the 23-year-old in, as he has shown signs of real promise during his first season playing in England’s top flight.
Buendia looks like the ideal player for Marcelo Bielsa’s system, as he combines hard-work with excellent technical ability.
Buendia is unlikely to be the only Norwich player in demand this summer.
The likes of Max Aarons, Todd Cantwell, Teemu Pukki and Jamal Lewis could also be targeted by top flight clubs in the coming weeks.
