Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign Stanis Idumbo Muzambo from Ajax amid claims that he isn’t playing this weekend due to illness.

Tottenham are clearly trying to add major talent for the coming years.

Striker Alejo Veliz and defender Ashley Phillips both arrived over the summer and Luka Vuskovic will be joining in 2025.

Ange Postecoglou is doing fine work in the here and now, but Spurs now appear to be eyeing up another wonderkid addition…

Tottenham Hotspur moving for Stanis Idumbo Muzambo

Reports in Belgium just a few days ago indicated that Tottenham have now offered a four-year contract to Ajax talent Stanis Idumbo Muzambo.

The 18-year-old is out of contract at the end of the season and Tottenham are trying to lure him to North London.

An attacking midfielder or winger, Muzambo has hit three goals in 11 games for the Jong Ajax side this season.

Fabrizio Romano now reports that Muzambo has already decided to leave Ajax and is free to sign a pre-contract agreement in January.

Romano claims that Muzambo has already communicated that decision to Ajax but Tottenham are one of six clubs to show a real interest.

Muzambo misses Ajax clash through illness

The Belgian talent may be chasing a January transfer and Tottenham fans will be interested to see that Muzambo didn’t play for Jong Ajax on Saturday.

Muzambo was nowhere to be seen against FC Eindhoven, sparking suggestions that tax will be selling him very soon.

Jong Ajax boss Dave Vos has calmed down the exit rumours, stating that Muzambo is actually ill and unable to play.

Vos added that he hasn’t heard of an official contract stance from Muzambo just yet, as quoted by Ajax Showtime.

“He is ill and I have not heard anything official yet,” said Vos when asked about a transfer. “I think these are rumours and I have not heard anything from the club yet. He’s sick, so we’ll miss him tonight,” he added.

Ajax seem to be fighting a losing battle as they attempt to keep hold of Muzambo, with Tottenham making their move.

Spurs will be confident of signing the wonderkid having put a four-year deal on the table and whilst a deal at the end of the season could be in the pipeline, we could see Tottenham launch a January move too.
