Mauricio Pochettino has revealed to the Guardian that Kylian Mbappe is always asking about English football amid claims that he wants to join Liverpool.
The Transfer Window podcast reported last month that Mbappe had told friends that he would like a move to Anfield with Liverpool in the summer.
And Pochettino has now revealed the the French striker is a keen observer of all things Premier League, and wants to build his knowledge base of English football.
“Kylian loves football, he loves to talk about football,” Pochettino says. “He asks about England – how is the game, the mentality and the culture there? – and also Spain and Argentina. He will watch, every day, games from England, France, Italy, Germany.
“He’s only 22 but very mature, confident in his talent and open. He can speak French, of course, but also perfect English and Spanish. I speak in English and Spanish with him – more English than Spanish. I said to him the other day: ‘I need to practise my French with you, to improve,’ and he said: ‘Sure, but it’s better for me to talk in English.’ He loves to practise different languages.”
The comments will add further intrigue for Liverpool fans, who are dreaming that such a transfer could happen.
FSG have sent out an apology statement after the Super League saga, but actions speak louder than words and bringing a player of Mbappe’s quality to Liverpool would really prove their intent.
However, the American owners have always spent prudently before, and even in their current remorseful state it seems unlikely that stance will change.

Mbappe, therefore, remains an unlikely candidate to join Liverpool – but what a signing he could be.
The 22-year-old has netted a hat-trick against Barcelona in this season’s Champions League, to raise his profile further.
Mbappe is widely considered the heir to Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo’s throne, but he does only have just over a year left on his PSG deal.
Mbappe’s future, therefore, is likely to come under intense speculation over the summer.
And Pochettino’s latest comments just add credibility to the claims that a move to the Premier League could appeal to the front-man.
It is just up to Liverpool to find a way to fund a transfer now.
