Former Leeds United boss Steve Evans has suggested to the Peterborough Evening Telegraph that he could see Ivan Toney leading the line at Elland Road.
Evans was the manager who signed Toney for Peterborough United, and the 24-year-old forward has become one of the hottest properties outside the Premier League.
Toney has smashed in 26 goals this season, with Posh now looking for £12 million for the striker (The Scottish Sun).
And Evans suggests that he could see Toney signing for Leeds and banging in goals for the Whites.
“I’d seen him play for Scunthorpe at the end of the previous season and he was virtually a one-man team,” Evans said, when discussing signing Toney.
“I was confident he would become a star and I can honestly see him leading the line at a Premier League club or at the biggest Championship club, Leeds United right now.”

Leeds are indeed likely to be on the hunt for a new striker in the summer, but whether Toney is on Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s radar remains to be seen.
Patrick Bamford has struggled at Leeds this term, with the forward proving to be very wasteful in front of goal for Marcelo Bielsa’s men.
No such accusations can be directed at Toney, who has been extremely clinical for Posh.
Peterborough have already turned down a £4 million for Toney this summer (PET), although there is an expectation that he will depart London Road in the near future.
