Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Nuno has told The Mirror that Diogo Jota is going to Liverpool.
According to BBC Sport, Liverpool have agreed a deal with Premier League rivals Wolves to sign the Portugal international winger in the summer transfer window.
The report has claimed that the 23-year-old winger will cost an initial transfer fee of £41 million, and that the youngster will sign a five-year contract.
Wolves manager Nuno has praised Jota, and he has said that the youngster is going to move to Premier League champions Liverpool.
Nuno told the Mirror: “Diogo is amazing. What Diogo did for us is absolutely fantastic. Things happen when naturally they should happen. He’s going to the right place. He’ll never be forgotten by our fans.”
Good signing for Liverpool?
Jota has done well for Wolves, both in the Championship and in the Premier League, and the 23-year-old has also played well in the Europa League for Nuno’s side.
It is hard to see the winger break the current Liverpool front-three, but he will be a valuable option for manager Jurgen Klopp on the substitutes’ bench, at least for this season.
The winger is only 23 years of age, meaning that there is potential for him to get even better and add more facets to his game in the future.
