RB Leipzig boss Julian Nagelsmann has been discussing his centre-back Dayot Upamecano, who has been linked with a move to Liverpool.
The Sunday World reported back on October 24th that the Bundesliga outfit are expecting a bid from Jurgen Klopp’s side for the Frenchman.
Nagelsmann has been discussing the weaker aspects of Upamecano’s game following his error against Paris Saint-German earlier this week.
However, he still found time to say that the 22-year-old is on his way to becoming world class.
AS quote the German as saying: ‘In general, Upamecano is on his way to [being] world class, but he has to stop these things, obviously. He knows it himself, he is very critical of himself.’
The defender, who cost RB Leipzig £9 million according to the Daily Mail, is one of the most highly-rated young prospects in Europe.

Former Bundesliga hitman Jan Age Fjortoft even described Upamecano as a ‘gem’ and believes Manchester United are interested in signing him.
The Norwegian told German outlet Sportsbuzzer (via Inside Futbol): ‘[Manchester United have] two eyes on him. Upamecano is a gem, he sometimes does too much for a defender.’
Moments such as his error against PSG, in which his loose backpass allowed Moise Kean to assist Angel Di Maria, presumably won’t impress Liverpool.

However, it must be remembered that Upamecano is still very young, and mistakes will happen as he continues to learn his trade.
The Évreux-born defender has made ten appearances in all competitions so far this season, scoring one goal.
If Jurgen Klopp did manage to sign the RB Leipzig No.5, then having him alongside either Virgil van Dijk or Joe Gomez would be a truly mouthwatering prospect.
