Rangers manager Mick Beale is playing down speculation linking Glen Kamara with a £5 million move to Championship outfit Leeds United this month.
After the weekend from hell at Elland Road – Birmingham City’s 91st minute winner on Saturday afternoon adding insult to injury with Jack Harrison gone and both Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville seemingly destined to follow him – the last thing Leeds United supporters need right now is yet more bad news.
According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds had identified Finland international Glen Kamara as a potential £5 million addition to Daniel Farke’s increasingly thread-bare squad.

But anyone hoping for Kamara’s imminent arrival at Thorpe Arch will be disappointed.

“There’s nothing in that one at this moment,” Beale told the Glasgow Times when quizzed about Kamara’s proposed move to Leeds.
Out of favour at Ibrox, the one-time Arsenal youngster will almost certainly depart before the month is out. Kamara was left out again during Saturday’s 4-0 hammering of Livingston. He has fallen behind new recruits Kieran Dowell and Jose Cifuentes in Beale’s pecking order. The industrious Nicolas Raskin also arrived in January.
“Glen Kamara is the player who’s definitely going to move on,” Beale said last week, via Yahoo Sport.
According to reports, there is no shortage of interest, even if Leeds’ admiration for the 27-year-old may have been overblown. Lyon and Borussia Monchengladbach are two potential destinations.

Leeds, at least, can still call upon Tyler Adams for the time being.
Adams was supposed to join Chelsea over the weekend for around £20 million. The deal fell through, however. Mauricio Pochettino will instead shatter the British transfer record for £115 million Moises Caicedo, with Southampton’s Romeo Lavia potentially not far behind.
