Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is prepared to listen to offers for Sergio Romero amid interest from Leeds United and Everton, according to The Mirror.

It has been reported that Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti wants to sign Romero from Premier League rivals United in the summer transfer window.

The Italian tactician reportedly wants to put pressure on his first-choice goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.

Leeds, who will play in the Premier League next season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship, are also interested in the Argentina international, according to the report, which has added that United manager Solskjaer is prepared to listen to offers for the 33-year-old.

Summer transfer?

David de Gea is the first-choice goalkeeper at United at the moment, and with Dean Henderson back at the club from his loan spell at Sheffield United, Romero will struggle to play regularly for the Red Devils next season.

However, at Leeds or Everton, the Argentine – described by then United manager Louis van Gaal as a “very talented goalkeeper” in The Guardian in July 2015 – would not find it easy to start games.

Kiko Casilla is the first-choice goalkeeper at Leeds, while Pickford remains a very capable player between the posts for the Toffees.
